"Let's see. Insubordinate. Insolent. A trickster. Perhaps with criminal tendencies. Well, that last one may just be put to good use…"

Ex-thief Harry Palmer is compelled to work for Military Intelligence in dealings of an underhand nature. His natural reluctance to volunteer for anything and his ability to annoy his immediate superiors by raising insubordination to an art form is tolerated because he’s good at his job – something which lands him in trouble when he is set on the trail of some missing scientists and discovers a piece of tape labelled “IPCRESS” in a deserted warehouse. It is not long before the stakes are raised and Palmer is in danger of losing his life....

Based on Len Deighton’s best-selling novel, Michael Caine turns in the first starring role of his career as reluctant agent Harry Palmer. Produced by JAMES BOND co-producer Harry Saltzman, THE IPCRESS FILE won BAFTAS for Director Sidney J. Furie, Art Director Ken Adam, and Cinematographer Otto Heller.

This version of the film is digitally remastered from a new 2.35:1 transfer. It also contains the following special features:

• New exclusive interview with Sir Michael Caine
• New exclusive interview with production designer Sir Ken Adam
• Commentary with director Sidney Furie and film editor Peter Hunt
• The Ipcress File - Michael Caine Goes Stella - exclusive new comedy sketch starring Phil Cornwell
• 1969 documentary Candid Caine, featuring Sir Michael Caine talking frankly about his career
• Original theatrical trailer
• Original US radio commercials
• Stills gallery
