Catweazle – the all-time children’s classic collected in one set on DVD!
Geoffrey Bayldon stars as the eleventh century magician, Catweazle, who escaped through time to find himself nine centuries into the future. His magic is very hit-and-miss and it is compounded by his inability to deal with the trappings of modern-day life, such as electricity (“electrickery”) and the telephone (“telling bone”), but he is befriended by a young boy (a farmer's son in the first series and the son of a lord and lady in ths second) and they share a number of unpredictable adventures together. It is written and created by Richard Carpenter, who is also responsible for such shows as THE ADVENTURES OF BLACK BEAUTY, THE GHOSTS OF MOTLEY HALL and ROBIN OF SHERWOOD, and all episodes on this set have been digitally remastered to a high level of quality.
This award-winning children’s series will appeal to people who liked Richard Carpenter’s other series (BLACK BEAUTY, ROBIN OF SHERWOOD), nostalgists who bought DVDs of series like BAGPUSS and THE CLANGERS and archive television fans.
